Your Plumber to the rescue

Your Plumber to the rescue

30 January 2016

Whilst attending a routine boiler service this week Your Plumber came to the rescue of a homeowner whose boiler was unknowingly leaking dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.

During the service our engineer obtained a reading that was 3 times the safe limit, which if left unresolved could have caused the homeowner serious harm, if not death. By discovering the potentially fatal leak before serious harm was caused to the homeowner, Your Plumber was able to carry out remedial work to ensure that the homeowner had use of a safe and working boiler.

What is carbon monoxide?

Carbon monoxide (CO), known as the silent killer, is a highly poisonous substance produced by unsafe gas appliances. It is so dangerous because you can see it, taste it or smell it, meaning it can kill quickly and without warning.

To reduce the risks of potential carbon monoxide poisoning you should ensure that your gas appliances are safe by having them checked, serviced and maintained by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
